The Tony nominations had a little bit of everything, for both those obsessed with the Broadway stage and those only familiar with its biggest names.

One of the year's most underrated stage performances, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder topped all other productions for total nominations, bringing in ten. The musical tells the story of a commoner that goes on a murder streak in order to work his way up the social ladder. Both Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham earned Best Actor, while Lauren Worsham picked on up for Featured Actress.

The Best Actor category(s) played host to a number of names popular among both theatre and television-viewers. In the Best Performance by An Actor in A Leading Role in A Play, Bryan Cranston earned a nod for All The Way, Chris O'Dowd for Of Mice and Men, and Tony Shaloub for Act One. Neil Patrick Harris is close with Cranston for the biggest name among the bunch, although he earned a nom for Best Actor in a Musical for his role as the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Hugh Jackman will be hosting the awards ceremony, but Harris won acclaim for his gig as host last year, and if he wins the award for actor in a musical, Tony voters might pass a knowing nod.

The big names aren't limited to men, of course. Idina Menzel might be the biggest name on the lineup this year, thanks to her success from the film Frozen and its hit song "Let It Go." Menzel is nominated for Best Actress for her role in the musical If/Then

Among the other productions that brought in the most nominations, Hedwig earned nine. After Midnight, Beautiful: The Carole King Story Musical, The Glass Menagerie and Twelfth Night all managed seven nominations.
