Adele is on fire this year. After breaking records many times over with the release of her latest album 25 as well as the first single "Hello." Now, Adele is looking to carry that through to the new year with a string of North American tour dates and a performance at the 2016 Brit Awards. She is the first performer known to be making an appearance at the ceremony slated for Feb. 24.

"You couldn't get a bigger name in music right now. Adele is having an exceptional moment and The Brits are delighted to be a part of her history, her her present and future," chairman of the awards Max Lousada said in a statement to the Guardian.

But this is not the first time that Adele has been present at the ceremony, and the singer has won three Brit awards in the course of her career. She additionally performed her hit song "Someone Like You" at the event in 2011. In one notable moment for the British singer, while giving an acceptance speech in 2012, she gave the middle finger to presenter James Corden after he cut her acceptance speech short.

All nominations for the Brit Awards will be announced just after the new year on Jan. 14 and the event will occur at O2 in London in an elaborate celebration of high-charting British music.

Adele's North American tour spans 56-dates and will hit musical hotspots Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Nashville and Austin. Tickets went on sale today via her official website for the tour and if the almost instant sell-out of passes for the U.K. portion is any indication, they will disappear quickly.

Her North American portion will additionally hit large scale venues such as Madison Square Garden and the Staples Center. Adele will also make multiple-night stands in Canada and Mexico.
