No offense to Brad Wilk, but he's not the first guy we go to when we want an update on Rage Against The Machine. Still, it's worth examination when the percussionist claims that Rage Against The Machine is done.

"As far as I know, we played our last show in 2011 at the Coliseum, and if that was our last show, that's a good way to go out," he said. "I had sort of had to put it in my head that that band is over in order for me to just move on with my life, to be honest with you, so that's kind of where that lies. The Coliseum - awesome way to go out."

There's certainly been nothing Rage-related happening with the band's members, so it's not tough to imagine that they've called it quits. Wilk recorded for Black Sabbath last year and vocalist Zach de la Rocha was spotted with Run The Jewels in the studio recently. Most tellingly, guitarist Tom Morello has been touring with Bruce Springsteen for more than a year now. Morello referred to the band's status as "unknown" last year, but acknowledged that he didn't foresee any new recordings happening.

"When bands make albums it's because everybody wants to, and that's not the case with Rage Against The Machine at the moment," he told NME. "Everyone in the band gets along very well, we consider each other friends and comrades in arms, but people sometimes don't feel ready to do it."

We dunno...that sounds an awful lot like "Rage Against The Machine is not a band right now." But then again, they probably didn't plan on playing more shows after they broke up the first time either. There's always hope.
