On Wednesday (Jan. 6), the 42nd People’s Choice Awards aired on CBS and while the ceremony honored fan-voted standouts in popular culture, there were a couple of names that were apparently left out. During the show, a man crashed the stage and gave a shoutout to Kanye West and Kevin Gates.

The incident actually took place as the hosts of The Talk were accepting the award for Favorite Daytime TV Hosting Team. As Sarah Gilbert addressed the crowd, the man cut her off, giving a shoutout to the Baton Rouge rapper’s forthcoming Islah album. Before making his exit, he told the crowd, "Yeezy jumped over the Jumpman."

Sharon Osbourne let off a few kicks as she tried to physically remove him from the stage and Sheryl Underwood, who appeared elated prior to the mishap, hopped on the mic, saying, "You ain't gonna pull no Steve Harvey up in here. No sir!"

Gates’ debut album is slated to be released later this month. He recently revealed its tracklist on Instagram. Gates has put out several singles over the past several months including "Really Really," "2 Phones," "La Familia" and "The Truth." The 15-track project will be released on Jan. 29.

On New Year’s Eve, Kanye West dropped a diss track aimed at Nike. On the track, titled “Facts,” he throws major shade at his former collaborator.

"Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, I feel so accomplished / I done talked a lot of sh*t but I just did the numbers / Herzog and Adidas, man you know they love it / If Nike ain't have Drizzy, man they wouldn't have nothin', woo! / If Nike ain't have Don C, man they wouldn't have nothin', ooh!"

After releasing two models of the Nike Air Yeezy over a few years, West jumped ship to Adidas last year. He cited a lack of creative control, among other things, for his reason to leave.

After the stage crash, Sheryl Underwood retweeted several references to her attempt to stop the madness.
