Rap icon Nas has publicized plans to launch his very own record label coined Mass Appeal Records just after his contract with Def Jam is up later this year. The label will coincide with the artistic publication he helped resurrect back in 2013, also titled Mass Appeal, and aim at allowing artists the freedom and much needed space to grow into the performers they desire to be.

The rapper was recently quoted telling Billboard, "I'm excited to be a part of creating and supporting future careers and legacy artists, promoting love and finding new genius to help the world." He continued, "I'm going to be as involved as I need to be, but I also want to be respectful of the art and give artists the space they need to grow and become themselves."

Mass Appeal Records hopes to begin releasing material in the next coming summer months, beginning with a compilation album featuring the likes of A$AP Mob, Mac Miller and Future.

Also on the calendar is a group of unreleased Nas material titled The Lost Tapes 2 as well as a posthumous Pimp C album that will be produced by Mike WiLL Made It, DJ Mustard and Juicy J.
