Core member of the Grammy Award-winning indie rock band Arcade Fire, Richard Reed Parry, is planning to release a new solo album, Music for Heart and Breath. The group's multi-instrumentalist, known particularly for switching between the guitar, drums, double bass, celesta, keyboards and accordion, will drop the album via Deutsche Grammophon, a classical label, on June 9.

Music for Heart and Breath will feature collaborations from other well-known musicians such as the likes of Kronos Quartet, the National's Bryce and Aaron Dessner, Nico Muhly and yMusic.

As described on Parry's website, the new collection is composed of "very soft, very quiet music played utterly in synch with the heart rates and breathing rates of the musicians performing it. Every note you hear is either in synch with the heartbeat of the person playing it, the breathing of the person (or one of the surrounding persons) playing it. So what you hear when this music plays is played precisely in time with someone's quiet, internal rhythms. Brought to musical life by a handful of different ensembles."
