It is unfortunate the music world has recently lost some of the greats including David Bowie. The worldwide famous singer passed away too soon but he also left some gems behind that would keep his memory alive. This week, the Talkhouse released a lost recording of David Bowie impersonating Bruce Springsteen, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Lou Reed and Neil Young.

The video comes with a very interesting story: record producer, Mark Saunders, was working with Bowie at the Westside Studios in London in 1985. As studying to be an audio engineer, Saunders was working with Bowie on a session for the Absolute Beginners soundtrack when at the the end of it, Bowie decided to let loose and Saunders recorded it. Quite the perfect moment in history!

Bowie inspired many and continues to do so. The day that he passed away, Kanye tweeted the following: "David Bowie was one of my most important inspirations, so fearless, so creative, he gave us magic for a lifetime." This tweet was one amongst many honoring the late superstar.

But the inspiration went both ways. Bowie's last album, Blackstar, was said to be inspired by Kendrick Lamar. According to an interview with Rolling Stone, Kendrick's album, To Pimp a Butterfly, inspired Bowie. "We loved the fact Kendrick was so open-minded and he didn't do a straight-up hip-hop record," producer, Tony Visconti told Rolling Stone. "He threw everything on there, and that's exactly what we wanted to do."

With every lyric, song and album, fans admiration for Bowie strongly grew. And now to have this video released, it adds to the memories that will keep Bowie alive for years to come. Though NYC has declared January 20th, David Bowie day, for his fans, everyday is a David Bowie day. Enjoy the impersonations and tell us what you think!
