This year's NBA All-Star game is going to have a heavy Police presence - Sting is going to be taking the stage for this year's halftime show.

Though Drake was rumored to be the halftime show entertainment in his hometown of Toronto, People confirmed that Sting will instead be enchanting audiences this year. Instead, Drake will serve as a coach for the Celebrity All-Star Game over the same weekend alongside Ride Along 2 comedian Kevin Hart.

And Sting won't be the only performer during the Feb. 14 game. Cirque du Soleil will illustrate the "story of a basketball dream" (so expect a lot of twirls and dunks) as pre-show entertainment.

Sting joins a long and eclectic list of performers who have taken over the NBA All-Star game halftime show over the years. Last year's extravanganza in New York City featured performances from Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. Other recent NBA All-Star game entertainers include Janelle Monae, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Rihanna and John Legend.

The NBA All-Star weekend will run from Feb. 12 to 14. The All-Star Game itself will air Feb. 14 at 8:30 p.m. EST.

When he's not getting ready for the NBA All-Star Game, Sting is prepping for his extensive Rock Paper Scissors Tour alongside Peter Gabriel. The co-headlining tour is set to kick off on June 21 in Columbus, Ohio, and will run for 19 dates across the United States and Canada before wrapping up on July 24 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Sting's last solo album The Last Ship was released in 2013.
