Norwegian electronic duo Lemaitre have released their new EP 1749. The five-track has features from OWSLA's Mark Johns, Jennie A and Giraffage.

The EP is all over the place, varying from funky rhythms to upbeat and grungy tracks that rattle the listener to their core. The EP starts out the triumphant "Not Too Late" and then gets a bit darker with the brooding, chugging beats of "Stepping Stone" that match the robotic cooing of Mark Johns.

"Closer" brings out the horns and half-time funk in a Griz or Big Gigantic sounding track before wrapping things up with the playful "Day Two" and the Giraffage collaboration "Nishio 2."

1749 is not just some random number they decided to use for the EP title, it holds significance to them as the address of their home and studio.

"1749 is our home address and the title of our EP, but it's more than that. 1749 represents the journey we've made and the process of creating music in our home away from home. We live with our video director, manager and our friend Sebastian 'Coucheron,' who also makes music," explains the band in a statement. "We all moved together from Norway to chase the dream of making music and living in LA. It's kind of like the TV-show Entourage except without all the money, ladies, and fancy parties."
