The last time these two teams met in game one of the tie, United was defeated by the lesser known team. Midtjylland has the advantage going into today's game, but director Claus Steinlein isn't getting too far ahead of himself and hopes his team can pull off a "miracle" today to advance.
"If we beat Manchester United over two legs, it will be a bit of a miracle," the club's sporting said, according to UEFA.com. "Now we believe we can beat them and I'm sure we will go there and do it."
Speaking to his team's website ahead of the game, manager Louis Van Gaal shared some of the tactics United will put in place today.
"Of course, for them, it's the match of the year but we have to beat them," the coach said. "They're a difficult squad. The media are saying it's a weak squad but the figures and the data says that they have always won against English opponents. They have very good defensive organization and they are doing that with diagonal pressing, and I want us to do that also."
