Dr. Luke has fired back at Kelly Clarkson’s claim that she was forced to work with him on her hit song “Since U Been Gone,” with a book excerpt. The book in question was The Soundtrack of My Life, the memoir of Sony Music Entertainment’s head honcho, Clive Davis.

When Digital Spy approached his rep for commentary on the assertions Clarkson made on Kyle and Jackie O's radio show on Australia's KIIS 106.5 on Monday, the response was a lengthy excerpt from the book, long enough that most wouldn’t bother reading all the way through. The excerpt details how the two collaborated but doesn’t exactly confront her allegations that he is “kind of demeaning” to work with and “not a good man.”

The two worked together on Clarkson’s song “Since U Been Gone” in 2004 and again in 2009 on “My Life Would Suck Without You” according to NME.

Clarkson opened up about the working relationship between herself and Dr. Luke the radio interview and said (via Refinery 29), “We’ve clashed before. He’s difficult to work with, he’s kind of demeaning. Obviously he’s a talented dude, but he’s lied a lot. Musically it’s been really hard for me, because he will just lie to people and it makes the artist look bad.”

“The last time I worked with him, I only worked with him because literally I got blackmailed by my label. It was a really hard time for me. They were like, ‘We will not put your album out if you don’t do this.”

In the interview, Clarkson denied knowing anything about a sexual relationship between Kesha and Dr. Luke, but definitely didn’t mince words about what she thinks of him personally.
