On Tuesday (March 8), rapper Azealia Banks decided to remove herself from social media and deleted her Twitter account. The choice followed Banks’ recent online feud with Iggy Azalea.

Prior to taking her account down, she gave her 549,000 followers a heads up.

"Ok, today, i'm finally making the decision to eject from social media," Banks wrote. "american media culture is honestly so f*cking disgusting and junky and complaining about it is not going to change it. reading sh*t, seeing stupid ass articles and dumb b*tches/bros has just really filled me up with a lot of bad feelings. it's been a great couple of years, sharing opinions and having conversations, but i think i will be so much happier just NOT looking at this. (Americans have the WORST taste in everything.) So my friends, its time to say goodbye once and for all to this account. This account will exist no more. Time for a bit of Mystery... Goodbye."

As noted by HipHopDX, the “212” rapper previously used her account to sound off on a number of current topics and making claims that she is going to vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election. She has even shared her opinion on hip-hop counterparts like Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj and T.I.

Just last week, Banks took to Twitter to put Iggy Azalea on blast following a mention during her interview with Elle Canada. She sent out a series of tweets before concluding with, “I'm about to take my pettiness to a whole new level. Like, I'm about to do something SO f*cking petty. You're gonna be gagging all year.”

She followed up by releasing a new track "Used to Being Alone," which samples "Astronomia" by Tony Iga, the same song Azalea used for her 2012 Ignorant Art mixtape track "My World."
