The drum-off is on... again! Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has accepted a bid to battle it out against comedian Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith in a testament to their pure power of rock... and their similar looks.

Earlier this week, Ferrell embraced his penchant for challenging rock drummers once again by calling out Ulrich, challenging him to settle the score on who looks the most alike each other and who can drum the hardest. "Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith," Ferrell said. "He can settle that score now, too."

And, in a twist that isn't really that twisty, Ulrich has taken on the bid, claiming he is the one true doppleganger.

"It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off, given the somewhat forced nature of the lookalike element between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, when I'm TRULY the one carrying that dead-ringer gene around!" he said in a statement to SPIN.

"As for any further drum-offs, I'm sure that with a bit of practice, I could give Chad a run for his money. But Will? That's a whole different story. He rules the "bad-ass drummer universe." I mean, you're talking about a guy who's so next level, actually, so beyond next level, that he may just be completely unreachable! That said, I'm definitely up for the challenge...Bring it on!!!"

Neither a date nor time has been set for the Ferrell vs. Smith vs. Ulrich drum off, but it's sure to be epic.

Earlier this year, Ferrell and Smith finally embraced their disturbing likeliness to each other and had their first drum off on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (and after raising $300,000 for charity). A charitable case for this new challenge is forthcoming, most likely.
