Charles Maynard, but we're happy to call him by his music moniker Charlie Funk recently released his great new Give Me a Groove EP through True Groove Records. Featuring some impressive guest instrumentalists and collaborators, including one from P-Funk All-Stars, this alternative funk EP can definitely get any party bumpin'! You can listen to a full stream of Give Me a Groove below.

The seasoned funk and soul songwriter is stepping up, front and center for the first time and he's got plenty of friends helping him out. Considering he probably helped them out as a songwriter in the past, it makes sense that his first release is a collaborative effort.

Each song is fun and will surely get plenty of appreciation from fans of funk, dance and soul.

Aside from the fun vocalist, the EP features the following musicians:

Tomás Doncker - Guitars, Vocals
Nick Rolfe - keyboards, vocals
Michael "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton - guitar on "Lunch In Babylon"
James Dellatacoma - Guitars, keyboards, programming
Josh David - Bass, Vocals
Mike Griot - Bass on "Lunch in Babylon"
Norman Edwards - Drums on "Lunch in Babylon"
Marla Mase - Spoken Word on "Lunch in Babylon"

Guitarist Doncker, who recently released his own album The Mess We've Made this year, also serves as producer alongside James Dellatacoma on this EP.
