Luke Bryan performs onstage at the 2014 CMA Festival on June 5, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to SavingCountryMusic, there could be a Luke Bryan and Miley Cyrus duet on the horizon and fans are not exactly thrilled. Though no one from either Luke nor Miley's camp has confirmed the story, it could happen and some fans are calling it the apocalypse. (Turns out that fans have a long memory and not many have forgotten Cyrus calling country music "contrived on so many levels" and saying that an artist has to be wearing a "cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you" in order to be successful in a Parade Magazine interview in 2010.)

Would a duet between the two be a smart move for either? While it would potentially open up a new demographic for Luke with Miley's fans, if comments found online are indication, it wouldn't be applauded by Luke's fans. It's a good thing that Luke himself appears to know that fact. Apparently, the guy who loves a good joke/prank was caught off guard by this bit of news and he's taken to Twitter to let fans know that this "confirmed" (by two radio personalities) newsflash is someone's pipe dream (but not his.)

On his official Twitter, Bryan asked, "Why is everyone asking if I'm doing a duet with miley." He followed that one minute later with, "Not true."
