Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, has announced that she's taking a break from her music career to create a new film as part of the horror anthology movie project, XX. Horror movie anthologies have been popular over the years, garnering their own sequels thanks to the success, but XX is an all-woman project. Since Clark is writing and directing her installment of the anthology, perhaps she'll cast her girlfriend Cara Delevingne in a leading role!

This new project is coming together thanks to the production companies XYZ Films and Magnolia Pictures. Roxanne Benjamin, who worked on acclaimed horror anthology V/H/S, is set to produce this all-female project.

Clark's innovation in music could lead to some interesting filmmaking. She's certainly excited about her new gig. The "Birth in Reverse" singer took to her social media accounts to share a new movie poster for XX, announcing her foray into the film industry, too.

The directorial debutant is in some great company on XX. According to The Wrap, other confirmed director include Karyn Kusama (The Invitation, Girlfight), Jennifer Lynch (Surveillance, Chained), and Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured Bird).

"I've long been a fan of Annie's work," Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles said in a press release. "We're excited to watch the singular vision she'll bring to this project."

We previously reported on Clark's new signature Ernie Ball guitar that was designed with female guitarist in mind. Considering she's arguably one of the best guitarists alive, of any gender, it's exciting to see her help the progression of the medium. Read our previous coverage of this news right here.
