Robin Thicke is clearly the type of man who just never gives up. The "Blurred Lines" singer and his wife Paula Patton got separated earlier this year, and he's doing everything he can to get back in her good graces. Today (June 23), Thicke introduced his next move: a highly personal, revealing music video for his unsubtle new single "Get Her Back."

Shot entirely in black and white, save for Thicke's eyes and red streaks of blood, the music video for "Get Her Back" focuses largely on a close up of the singer's face and a Patton lookalike. Thicke goes through a range of distressed emotions, from anger to distress to pure sorrow and depression, all while the Patton lookalike refuses to look him in the eye or the camera in faded shots.

Thicke appears bloody and bruised in certain parts of the music video too, hinting at some self-harm. But a broken heart will do that to a guy.

If the imagery of a distressed Thicke wasn't blatant enough for this music video, revealing (possibly real life) text messages flash upon the screen, with Thicke begging for his woman to take him back, but she's not having it.

"I wrote a whole album for you." "I don't care," the messages read at one point. Harsh.

Other insights into the Patton/Thicke split include vague notes of "You ruined everything," "You embarrassed me," "You drink too much" and "How could you do this to me?"

The music video may be a little too personal, especially considering all the rumors surrounding the longtime couple's separation (infidelity is a big rumor). But he's got to "Get Her Back" somehow, so why not lay it all on the line?

"Get Her Back" is the lead single from Thicke's new album Paula, due to hit stores on July 1. The album will largely be focused on the singer's break up with his longtime wife and partner, Paula Patton, if judging by the record's song titles, which include the likes of "Still Madly Crazy," "Love Can Grow Back" and "Forever Love."

This album is the follow-up to Thicke's smash 2013 album Blurred Lines.
