A lot of people were unhappy with Lana Del Rey's recent interview with The Guardian wherein she wished she "were dead already," including the "West Coast" singer herself. Now, one young woman who was personally affected by the death of a young musician is speaking out about Del Rey's controversial comments: Frances Bean Cobain. The daughter of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain called Del Rey out on Twitter last night (June 22), telling her to "embrace life."

"@LanaDelRey the death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize (cont)," she wrote in a series of tweets. "I'll never know my father because he died young & it becomes a desirable feat because ppl like u think it's 'cool.' Well, it's f***ing not. Embrace life, because u only get one life. The ppl u mentioned wasted that life. Don't be 1 of those ppl. Ur too talented to waste it away."

Cobain, of course, is referencing Del Rey name-checking her father, Amy Winehouse and Janis Joplin and saying that their early deaths were "glamorous" in her recent The Guardian profile.

Soon after Cobain posted her comments to Del Rey, her timeline was flooded with the singer's rabid fans accusing her of starting a feud, something the 21-year-old denied.

"I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience," she wrote.

Del Rey has more or less recanted her comments regarding her desire for an early death. In a series of since-deleted tweets, she claimed she was led to say she wished for an early death by journalist Tim Jonze. Jonze, however, defended his journalistic practices by releasing the audio for his interview with Del Rey, where she clearly answers that she desired a tragic death.
