Following his rained out Governor’s Ball performance, Kanye West’s last minute surprise show in NYC was also cancelled. West had aimed to have the show happen at 2 a.m. after he redirected fans from the rain-soaked grounds of Governor’s Ball to a Hot 97 Summer Jam series, but unfortunately for the rapper a swarm of fans made it impossible for the venue to host his performance.

According to SPIN, West tweeted, “Show at 2am SOLD OUT” shortly before the masses of fans arrived at the venue. His wife Kim Kardashian and 2 Chainz also promoted the performance via social media, which may have contributed to the swarms of fans at Webster Hall.

In an effort to keep the crowd at bay the venue tweeted, “There is no late show at Webster Hall tonight. Please get home safely.”

Eventually, the NYPD had to get concert goers to leave while West and Travis Scott rode through the crowds connecting with fans. According to footage they were shaking hands with crowd members through a sunroof.

Not giving up so easily, the artists then worked to find another venue, but the crowds eventually swarmed Trump Soho where they had planned it to take place. Mike Dean eventually tweeted “Thanks to everyone. We tried pop up shows at 3 places. All shut down.”

But Pusha T, Desiigner, Scott and 2 Chainz were present at SOB’s the following morning at Trump Soho.
