Suge Knight is blaming his murder charge on the shooting at Chris Brown's 2014 pre-VMA party.

Knight is currently incarcerated, but that hasn’t kept the infamous hip-hop heavyweight from making his presence known.

Knight’s damages from the incident included gunshot wounds to the left forearm, chest and abdomen. His injuries went on to give him medical complications, also cited in the lawsuit, which included a blood clot. The clot further caused complications for Knight in court when he appeared on an unrelated murder charge following the shooting.

The former hip-hop mogul is also blaming the shooting incident for the murder charge, which includes running down two men and killing one. Knight claims that “fear” following the shooting at 1 Oak instigated the getaway.

The lawsuit included both Brown as well as the owners of West Hollywood nightclub 1 Oak, citing that the club didn’t have adequate security. The lawsuit also cited that an armed person slipped by security into the venue.

It has not yet been reported how much Knight is seeking in retribution in the lawsuit, but it does request that both Brown and the nightclub cover continuing medical expenses for injuries resulting from the incident.

“As a result of the negligence of the defendants, one or more unknown individuals were allowed access to the event with weapons, including firearms. As a foreseeable result, gunshots were fired by those admitted to the event and Knight was shot and seriously injured.”

Knight’s lawsuit comes on the heels of one from Brown’s former manager Mike G, who has accused the singer of assault, battery and false imprisonment, as reported by SPIN. Brown claimed that Mike G was upset about being fired for stealing money, but former tour manager Nancy Ghosh has also spoken up, saying that Brown threatened her physically when he was “irrational and high on drugs.”
