Lana Del Rey is encouraging her younger fans to vote in the 2016 Presidential election between candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The singer posted a video to Instagram to express how important the election is to her.

“I am just checking to see that you guys are watching [the Presidential Debates,” she says in the clip. “I think it is so important to have all the information that you can have to make the best decisions for your future.”

She further said, “When you are young, it just doesn’t seem like it’s important, but when you get older you want to trust your leaders and you want to trust your own decisions, and the only way to do that is to have as much information as you can.”

Del Rey is rumored to be working on her follow-up album to Honeymoon, released in 2015. In an NME cover story, the singer expressed that she has some ideas of the sound that she wants on her new recordings. She also said that she has a strong feeling she should work with David Lynch, a cult director.

The last project Del Rey released was her music video for "Freak" starring Father John Misty. In addition to Father John, she also featured some of the same actresses from her "Music to Watch Boys To" video. The singer teased fans with it's release for weeks and premiered the video online at a screening event at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Fans who managed to get tickets to the event were also able to watch the singer perform live songs from her latest album, including "Honeymoon."
