After burning her baby blue wig and burying her candy cane bra, Katy Perry continues to define her new song 2013 "Roar." A new trailer for the first "Prism" single was released via Perry's Twitter and VEVO today (Aug. 7). Tweeting "This one's for the kittens. It's time to make those meows #ROAR," the "Fireworks" singer linked to the third promo for the song.

In the "From A Meow To A Roar" teaser, a fluffy white cat emerges from the doorway and hops on a plush red couch while a little clangy xylophone track plays. Though the kitty and the teaser itself seem innocent enough, things eventually take a turn.

A black and tan feather, which sat upon the couch, is of interest to the cat, who then chews and consumes the fallen bird part for several seconds. When the cat finishes the feather, the cutesy backing music cuts out, and the cat erupts in a mild roar. Though it's nothing to run in fear from, it's certainly a noise far beyond the cat's capabilities, more likened to a lion or a tiger.

Unlike the other two promos, which silently flashed "#ROAR" and song's Aug. 12 release date, the meow trailer gives Katy Cats a taste of the new single.

With a chant of "Ohs" and a stomping, toe-tapping beat, fans can finally deduce the direction of Perry's new single and album. No, it's not as dark as what some fans may have suspected, but there seems to be a certain strength and determination underneath the pop-friendly beat and powerful vocals.

Of course, it's too early to fully determine the strength of "Roar." The song will be released in full on Aug. 12. The album, "Prism," will follow on Oct. 22.

Until then, watch the "From A Meow To A Roar" teaser below.
