Cardi B has made it to the number one spot on Billboard Hot 100 with “Bodak Yellow,” ousting Taylor Swift and her hit single “Look What You Made Me Do.” The Bronx-born rapper celebrated the big news with a press conference at Atlantic Records on Monday about her climb to the top spot.

According to TMZ, Cardi B gave an impromptu speech and sang a chorus of LWYMMD in the event organized by the 24-year old’s family and friends. It might just be because of her excitement but many are calling it a Taylor Swift shade.

Cardi B and Swift went head-to-head on the Billboard Hot 100 this month. The “Bodak Yellow” artist finally made it to number one on Monday and she became one of only two female rappers to top the chart unaccompanied. The other one to achieve the feat was Lauryn Hill 19 years ago. Nicki Minaj failed to do the same with Swift lording it over the chart.

It has been several busy weeks for Cardi B in her ascent to the top. She graced the front row of several New York Fashion Week shows aside from judging Pat McGrath’s Mothership vogueing ball with Naomi Campbell among others. The press conference was a surprise for her by family and friends.

“Look What You Made Me Do” is the first single off Swift’s new album and many deem it as a revenge track for her supposed haters. They say that the song seem to present explicit attempts to present Swift as an underdog even as she was last year’s highest paid celebrity reports Vogue.

Meanwhile, “Bodak Yellow” is Cardi B’s debut single under a major label. It came out after only two years after she started rapping. Cardi B was able to become an Instagram, have reality television fame and a hit song after a stripping career. Many think that hers is the real story of hardship and triumph, and a perfect counterpoint to Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.”
