Oprah Winfrey flat-out declined to run for president in 2020, saying that the idea or the proposition does not interest her despite celebrities and fans pining for her to do so.

Winfrey's moving speech at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards started an online campaign among fans and Hollywood personalities that she runs for U.S. president. However, the media mogul got candid in a magazine interview and admitted that she does not have the DNA to become one.

"I've always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it's not something that interests me," Winfrey told InStyle magazine for her March cover interview.

The 63-year-old former talk show host revealed that someone already offered to help with her presidential campaign if she ever wants to run against Republican and current U.S. President Donald Trump in 2020. Still, Winfrey refused and said that it is not for her.

However, it is worthy to mention that her interview with the publication happened before her remarkable speech at the Golden Globe Awards where she talked about sexual harassment and assault. It happened three weeks before Winfrey gave an impassioned acceptance speech for her Cecil B. DeMille Award.

Two of her friends then mentioned that she is actively considering running for president as part of the Democratic Party. Winfrey's best friend Gayle King and long-time partner Stedman Graham also fueled rumors about her candidacy. King said Winfrey is intrigued by the idea while Graham sounded confident when he said that Winfrey "would absolutely do it" as long as there is sufficient public support.

Speaking of public support, Cormac Flynn already opened a national committee drafting Winfrey for U.S. President in 2020. The Democratic political consultant said that he formed the committee after his associates-who heard Winfrey's Golden Globes speech-- called and persuaded him to support her candidacy.

Flynn said that the committee would continue to convince Winfrey to run for U.S President in 2020 despite her magazine interview. He believes that she can be a "tremendous president "as she is an "exceptional leader."

This is not the first time that Winfrey put those presidential notions to bed. In January 2017, she told Stephen Colbert that there will be no running for an office of any kind for her.

Trump, however, liked the idea of two celebrities vying for the presidential seat in 2020. He said earlier this month that he did not think Winfrey would be interested to become president, but felt confident that he would win against her.
