The recent spate of attacks against Gaza and the rockets flying in the other direction have caused yet another act to pull out of its concert in Tel Aviv this summer. The Backstreet Boys made a statement on Sunday revealing that the group would also be canceling its dates in the country due to the recent conflicts.

"We are very sorry to inform you that the BSB concerts planned for July 29-30-31 at the Ra'anana Amphitheater have been postponed," the group said in a statement. "This is a major disappointment for the band and fans as this was to be our first visit to Israel and we looked forward to meeting our fans. We're already working with the producers on new dates during spring 2015 and will notify everyone about this as soon as possible. Sending lots of love to everyone."

This cancellation in particular was especially bitter because, as the group mentioned, this was to be its first visit to Israel, plus multiple dates were on the line for the act. The group's first scheduled show sold out quickly enough that it immediately scheduled two follow-up dates, which received equal sales success. For now the promoters of the show have said that the band is looking to visit during a 2015 tour leg, but obviously nothing is official yet.

As previously mentioned, numerous acts have cancelled shows in Israel-some out of safety concerns and some in solidarity with the Palestinian citizenry. Neil Young and Crazy Horse were the biggest names to cancel so far, but Paul Anka, jazz icon Chick Corea and folk rockers America have all cancelled. The good news is that Lady Gaga, Cee Lo Green and Megadeth (a band that sings an awful lot about missiles) haven't cancelled.

Yet.
