Iggy Azalea finally received her green card. The singer shared the news with her fans on social media on Friday.

The 27-year-old singer revealed that she has been living in the United States for the past 12 years, but it took a while for her green card application to be approved.

Azalea added that she has been paying her taxes for the past couple of years, but she did not have any say on how the government used it. The singer also claimed that some critics are so miserable for saying that they want her to be deported back to her country.

Azalea shared the happy news via her Instagram Stories. In the clip, she said that she has been accepted into the country forever.

Iggy Azalea, Nick Young's Split

Last year, the "Black Widow" singer revealed that her engagement to Nick Young has been called off. Instead of wallowing in her sadness, Azalea used her breakup to craft empowering new music.

"When I started [writing], I think things were very lovey-dovey, and I was engaged and about to get married and in that head space. I had a lot of changes and a breakup and was sort of like, 'Wow, okay. Now I'm a single woman in my mid-20s and I want to talk about other stuff now!" said Azalea.

Some of the songs in the singer's Digital Distortion album were written right after she and Young broke up.

"It wasn't that I was sad or feeling down in the dumps or feeling like I wanted to write heartbreak ballads. I was kind of excited about all of the things that I could do now, and I just really wanted to talk about that on my album," said the singer.
