Grimes Describes Her Two New Songs
The singer described her first untitled track as a "cheesy love song." It was recorded using only her mobile phone.

Grimes's second track was described as her ethereal chav jam that features a cyberpunk interpretation. The untitled song was also recorded using her phone.
The singer's last full-length album Art Angels was released in 2015. The songs in the compilation include "laughing and not being normal," "California," "SCREAM," "Flesh without Blood," "Belly of the Beat," "Kill V. Maim," "Artangels," "Easily," "Pin," "Realiti," "World Princess part II," "Venus Fly," "Life in the Vivid Dream," and "Butterfly."
Album Release Date Delayed
Earlier this year, Grimes announced that her new album will be released in the spring. However, she backtracked on her announcement days later. After calling the music industry "trash," some of her fans thought that she was having problems with her management.
In her now-deleted post, Grimes clarified that she was not feuding with Roc Nation and Jay-Z. In fact, the "Flesh Without Blood" singer was encouraged by Jay-Z to remain true to her sound. Grimes also said that Jay-Z never forced her to release anything that she was not comfortable with.
Making Headlines
Last month, Grimes also made headlines after rumors had swirled that she will be collaborating with YouTube star Poppy on her new album. Grimes shared a photo of herself with Poppy on her Instagram account.
"Soon....?" she captioned the snap with the cryptic question.
Also, in the same month, Grimes announced that she will be legally changing her name to "c." The singer said that her boyfriend, Elon Musk, inspired her to do so. "c," which is italicized and not capitalized, is the scientific symbol for the speed of light.
Grimes's real name is Claire Boucher, and Musk has also been calling his girlfriend "C" for quite some time. The couple started dating in April, and they made their first official outing at the Met Gala. They met after Musk had come across one of her videos.
