Lady Gaga is Ally, a promising country singer-songwriter, in the trailer of the anticipated upcoming movie, A Star Is Born.

'A Star Is Born' Trailer, Release Date, Movie Details

After starring in two seasons of American Horror Story, Stefani Germanotta a.k.a. Lady Gaga takes the leap from the small screen into the silver screen in the Bradley Cooper-directed musical romance. The movie, a remake of the 1937 classic of the same title, revolves around an aging country superstar (played by Cooper) who discovers and helps an unnamed talent find her voice in the music industry.

First announced back in 2016, the movie has already experienced several delays. It was first scheduled to be released in September, but last December, Warner Bros. shifted the premiere of the anticipated movie to May 18. Perhaps seeing its competition, namely Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story, A Star Is Born was once again moved to Oct. 5.

In the short trailer that dropped on Wednesday, June 6, Lady Gaga is introduced as Ally, a singer who performs in clubs. From the audience, Cooper's character, Jackson Maine, spots her and is blown away by her raw talent.

"Can I ask you a personal question," Jackson asked Ally. "Do you write songs or anything?"

"I don't sing my own songs," she responded. "I just don't feel comfortable. Almost every single person has told me they liked the way I sounded, but they didn't like the way I looked."

Lady Gaga, who already earned her first Oscar nomination for "Till It Happens To You," wrote some of the original songs used in the movie. Entertainment Weekly reports that Mark Ronson, who produced Joanne, also worked on the original motion picture soundtrack. Jason Isbell, Lukas Nelson, and Dave Cobb were also involved.

A Star Is Born also features Sam Elliott, Dave Chappelle, Anthony Ramos, and Bonnie Somerville.

Lady Gaga's Little Monsters React To 'A Star Is Born' Trailer

After a long and agonizing wait, fans finally got to see Lady Gaga in action as Ally. Following the release of the trailer on Wednesday night, her Little Monsters have, understandably, started freaking out.

Popstar and American Idol judge Katy Perry, a friend and fan of the "Bad Romance" singer, was among the first to react to the lauded trailer.

Former Glee and Scream Queens actress Lea Michele is also really excited to watch the movie.

Director Joss Whedon initially was not sold with the idea of Lady Gaga as Ally, a role previously played by Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand, on the big screen. After seeing the trailer, he is now a fan.
