Demi Lovato is under intense criticism on Twitter after revealing the "funniest prank" she ever played on Max, her unsuspecting bodyguard.

Demi Lovato Recounts Funny Prank

On Sunday, June 3, the pop star responded to a fan who asked about the funniest prank she ever pulled. Without hesitation, she recounted a time when she hired a lady of the night in Las Vegas to enter her bodyguard's hotel room and surprise him.

The 25-year-old detailed that the woman, without permission, grabbed Max, the bodyguard "in his area," which many assumed was his crotch. Apparently, the man "freaked out" because of the incident.

The tweet has since been deleted, but Buzzfeed had captured a screenshot before it was taken down by the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer.

The criticism comes a week after she performed the women empowerment song "Fall In Line" at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards with Christina Aguilera.

Twitter Reacts To Demi Lovato's Sex Worker Prank

While Lovato thought the encounter was funny, Twitter users did not. Many of them called out the former Disney star for hiring a sex worker to "sexually assault" her bodyguard.

Demi Lovato Responds To Criticism Over Prank

A few hours after she recounted the prank, Lovato responded to the criticism. She revealed that she, too, was sexually assaulted, so she knows that sexual assault is not something to be laughed at. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter shared that her song "Warrior" referenced her struggle to deal with her own experience.

Us Weekly notes that the celebrity activist previously said that the 2013 track was inspired by an experience that happened when she was a child. The song referenced a "criminal" who took "the light inside [he] stole."

Lovato, then, apologized to everyone who was hurt by the tweet.
