Barry Manilow Sprains His Vocal Cords

This is not the first time that the 74-year-old musician faced some health issues. Last year, he also postponed some of his shows due to his strained vocal cords. At the time, a statement was released on behalf of the singer.

"Barry is on doctor's orders to rest due to strained vocal cords. We are all very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause," read the statement.

Manilow was set to perform at The Forum in Inglewood, California and at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Singer Talks About His Sexuality, Marriage

Prior to his health issue, Manilow opened up about his marriage and sexuality for the first time while at the BMI Pop Awards in Los Angeles. During his interview with People, the singer said that his personal life has been nothing short of great. He also said that he is grateful to all the fans for their love and support.

After coming out, Manilow thought he will receive so much hate from his critics. However, he did not receive a single negative letter or comment from them.

"These people, these strangers - they care for me. Isn't it odd? I'm just a musician who sings. And these people care about my happiness - and that's what's been going on. It's been a beautiful, beautiful experience," said Manilow.

Manilow came out as gay at the age of 73. He also confirmed his 40-year marriage to Garry Kief, his manager. He said that he decided to keep his sexuality a secret for the sake of his fans.
