One of the founding members of the band 3 Doors Down is arrested and thrown to jail for weapons and drug charges.

Todd Harrell, the former bassist of the rock band, was taken into custody on Friday, June 15, at his home in St. Martin, Mississippi. The authorities, according to a news release, were responding to an alarm that went off.

However, when help arrived, Harrell's wife told the deputies that she and the rocker were involved in a fight that eventually turned violent. While there, the authorities saw guns and drugs inside the home. Narcotics officers were phoned and a search warrant was issued for the property.

The 46-year-old 3 Doors Down bassist was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance, and domestic violence/simple assault.

He is being held without bond until an initial court hearing, Fox 10 reported.

Todd Harrell's Arrest History

This is the second time that Harrell has been thrown behind bars. Back in 2013, the bassist was also arrested for vehicular homicide in a deadly crash in Nashville.

TMZ reports that the rocker clipped a pickup, which then went out of control, crashed into a guardrail, and skidded down into an embankment. The driver of the pickup was immediately sent to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

While being booked to jail, the authorities found a plastic bag containing Xanax, Oxycodone, and Oxymorphone pills. He was sentenced to two years in prison by a Nashville Criminal Court in 2015.

In 2014, he was again taken into police custody for driving under the influence. He was reportedly found slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle at an intersection in Mississippi. Cops revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Following his series of arrests, 3 Doors Down "indefinitely suspended" him from performing with the band. In a statement, the remaining members of the Grammy-winning rock act encouraged Harrell to work on his drug and alcohol issues.

Justin Biltonen replaced him in 2014.

In March this year, 3 Doors Down and Collective Soul announced "Rock & Roll Express Tour" 2018. The joint tour will kick off on July 6 at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Georgia.

The bands will perform in 36 cities across North America including Jacksonville, Tampa, Houston, Maryland Heights, and Chicago. Tickets are now available via Ticketmaster.
