Singer Katy Perry and fiance Orlando Bloom, are expecting a baby girl, as stated in an Instagram post, Friday, April 3.
The gender reveal came to the "Roar" singer's 92.7 million Instagram followers in a picture of Bloom covered in pink cream, perhaps icing or shaving cream. The picture was posted a few hours ago and is captioned "it's a girl" enclosed in heart emojis. It has close to a million likes as of this writing.
The singer behind "I Kissed A Girl", is now expecting her baby girl, and she likes it. Perry earlier announced to fans in attendance at Melbourne, Australia, during her International Women's Day performance, that she hopes to celebrate the day next year with a baby girl.
During her performance of "Wide Awake", she confessed to fans that "I hope it's a girl" as she pointed to her growing baby bump.
Katy Perry explained in her next-day interview with Mikey Piff that her pregnancy with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star was not an accident and that she has been planning to start a family with Orlando Bloom. This baby will be Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's first child together. Bloom already fathered a child with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, 9-year-old Flynn.
According to a report published in ET, "Katy's priority has always been a lifetime partner and building a family and future together", explaining that she has not rushed to being married and that she "just wants to do it right."
Katy and Orlando previously postponed their Japan wedding due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak and plans to move their nuptials until 2021. There are currently 2,600 cases of COVID-19 in Japan, with 63 deaths and more than 500 recoveries.
A report from ET further added that after Katy Perry's Australia concert, she temporarily canceled her scheduled public appearances to stay home with her fiance in the middle of the outbreak.
The "Firework" singer revealed her pregnancy with an emotional music video for "Never Worn White", where she cradled her baby bump by the end of the music video. Even the lyrics sing, "see us in 60 years with a full family tree."
The Perry and Bloom story
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom began their relationship sometime in 2016 before getting engaged on Valentines' Day of 2019. It will be both celebrities' second marriage.
Bloom's first marriage with Kerr, an Australian model, started with their wedding in July 2010 and gave birth to their son in January 2011. They ended their marriage as 2013 ended.
Perry, on the other hand, was previously married to English comedian Russell Brand. They married back in 2010 in a Hindu ceremony in Rajasthan. The marriage lasted for fourteen months before divorcing in December 2011. One of the reasons she stated were conflicting career schedules and Brand's desire to have children before she was ready.
Katy Perry currently works as a judge on the American singing competition "American Idol", starting from the sixteenth season in 2018. Orlando Bloom is known for his roles in movie franchises "Lord of the Rings" and "Pirates of the Caribbean."
