iHeart Radio announces a new podcast "Why I'm Voting". In the podcast, numerous musicians, influencers, athletes, and celebrities will come together to give their personal reasons as to why it is important for them to show up at the ballot box and vote during the upcoming 2020 elections in November.
For this year's election, American citizens will be voting for 35 senates seats, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, as well as who will be taking office as the President of the United States. This is the most vital and consequential election of the year, and many believe that now more than ever, it is important to cast your vote.
"Why I'm Voting" is hosted by Holly Frey and launched on August 10, Monday, and will run weekly through Election Day. The goal of iHeart Radio's "Why I'm Voting" podcast is to encourage Americans to share why it is important to vote in local, state, and national elections on November 3rd. Starting from August 10 through Election Day, iHeart Radio will be opening more than 850 broadcast radio stations across the United States. People may use their social media accounts and the iHeart Radio application to record their own 20 seconds or less audio or video message and answer the question: "Why am I voting?" If selected, their recording will be played to iHeart Radio's 278 million listeners.
iHeart Radio will also launch this podcast in conjunction with the "Why I'm Voting" campaign, which will encourage their listeners to text the word VOTER to 26797 to learn more about local election voting procedures, updates, registation details and deadlines, and more. This is done with the goals of getting Americans to practice their right to vote in the upcoming 2020 elections.
