Wiz Khalifa is making some new "Promises" today (Aug. 4). In advance of his new album Blacc Hollywood, the "We Dem Boyz" rapper released a tender new R&B jam "Promises," and it's a long cry from the harder, weedier raps from Khalifa... this is a straight love song.

With the heavy help of auto tune, Khalifa is nearly unrecognizable from previous Blacc Hollywood releases and instead focuses on his one and only girl.

"Baby when the lights go out / It's like we're the only ones / And I already feel it now / It's like you're the only one / Only one who knows just how / How to make the time stand still / We're caught in the moment / So don't let me down," Khalifa croons late in the first verse, showing how some good lovin' can make all the difference.

But it's not all love, of course. Khalifa also blasts off in a rapping verse, dropping rhymes about a few of his favorite things: weed (of course), drop crotch pants, money and the more vulgar parts of sex.

This is a Wiz Khalifa song after all, you couldn't expect all heart and no smoke, right? But it works, oddly, not taking you out of the moment, which inevitably feels like his primary goal.
