American pianist and singer Bobbie Nelson has passed away at 91 years old.

Born Bobbie Lee Nelson, Bobbie was the older sister of famed country music singer Willie Nelson.

Dying "peacefully and surrounded by her family," the pianist's family has not disclosed any information about how she died, as per Variety.

As reported by the Austin American-Statesman in 2007, Willie recalled to the newspaper how he could not in any way explain how lucky he is to have the late Bobbie Nelson in their family.

"Whenever I've needed a piano player, I've had Sister Bobbie right there. ... Whenever our band plays, Sister Bobbie is the best musician on the stage," he elaborated.

She was a longtime member of his brother's band for more than 50 years, "Willie Nelson and Family," as the group's pianist.

Last October, the two played their previous performance at the Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas.

Although fans could not see the pianist that much on the gig, they have confirmed the pianist's presence on stage with her long and beautiful hair, as they are sure that whatever problem they might get into, nothing can separate Bobbie and Willie.

Bobbie and Willie Nelson's Tight Relationship

With the strength of the two's sibling love, both of them co-released "Me and Sister Bobbie: True Tales of the Family Band." The two released the David Ritz co-written album almost two years ago.

When Willie Nelson and Bobbie Nelson released their joint memoir, they recounted how his creative resurgence in the early 1970s corresponded with his decision to invite Bobbie into their band.

Legend producer Jerry Wexler brought Willie Nelson into Atlantic to record his "outlaw-era albums," in doing so, he was also allowed to include another person to the album, in which Willie chose Bobbie.

Now in Atlantic, Bobbie worked on the first few albums his brother was making for the label, a gospel album called "The Troublemaker," and "Shotgun Willie," albums that catapulted the male Nelson to stardom.

Upon releasing their joint memoir in 2020, Willie told PEOPLE that Bobbie was his "closest friend for a lifetime."

"The fact that she is getting some attention for what she is done with her life is gratifying to me," Willie delightfully explained.

Heartbroken, the Nelson family's recent statement reminisced the pianist's "elegance, grace, beauty and talent" that made the "world a better place."

The statement reads: "Our hearts are broken and she will be deeply missed. But we are so lucky to have had her in our lives. Please keep her family in your thoughts and give them the privacy they need at this time."
