ASCAP 2022 Olivia Rodrigo Bags Songwriter of the Year Award

Fresh from her massive win at the GRAMMY Awards last weekend, Olivia Rodrigo is on a roll as she is hailed the Songwriter of the Year at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards 2022.

Rodrigo bags one of the highest honors of the award-giving body because of her songwriting prowess.

ASCAP recognizes the 19-year old's work for her hit songs "good 4 u," driver's license, and "deja vu."

Receiving her first ASCAP and Songwriting award, Olivia Rodrigo is one of the youngest recipients since its launch in 1984.

Beyonce was the same age when she received hers in 2001, while Debbie Gibson was a year younger when she bagged her first in 1989.

The "driver's license" hitmaker was nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year in the recently-concluded GRAMMYs, in which they are predicted to sweep but ultimately lost to Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open." READ ALSO: CMT Music Awards 2022: Performers, Nominees, Voting, More!
