Good news for Nirvanas fans! An instrument once belonged to Kurt Cobain can be purchased in an auction. However, it will cost a lot.

According to Loudwire, a new batch of the late singer's personal belongings will be available for purchase as part of Julien's Auctions' upcoming "Music Icons" auction.

The event will be from May 20 to 22 at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City. Items will also be available online.

Over the past years, the auction house has sold several of Cobain's items. The latest batch will include the rocker's Fender Mustang electric guitar that he used in the iconic "Smells Like Teen Spirit" music video.

This is the first time the instrument will be sold in an auction.

The auction will be for a good cause as a portion of the proceeds will go to the "Kicking the Stigma" initiative, a group that raises awareness about mental health disorders.

May also falls under the Mental Health Awareness Month.

The left-handed guitar, which features a Competition Lake placid blue finish, is expected to be worth between $600,000 and $800,000.

During Cobain's final interview with Guitar World, the rocker said he's left-handed, and it's challenging to find a reasonably priced, high-quality left-handed guitar.

"But out of all the guitars in the whole world, the Fender Mustang is my favorite. I've only owned two of them," he said of the instrument.

Following his death, the guitar was on display at the MoPOP Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle.

Aside from the instrument, there will also be an exclusive NFT with a minted narration as part of the sale. The singer's guitar tech, Earnie Bailey, will be narrating the significance of the item.

The non-fungible token will feature a 360-degree representation of the guitar and will only be limited to one edition.

Speaking about the auction, President/Chief Executive Officer of Julien's Auction Darren Julien said the fabled guitar is one of the most culturally significant and historically important guitars, not just for Cobain and Nirvana's legacy but also in all of rock music.

"This remarkable collection consisting of one dazzling and profound prized possession after another plays like the ultimate Kurt Cobain catalog with items offered such as his beloved Dodge Dart car to his original artwork to his rare Nirvana keepsakes, as well as unique NFT collectibles from his sister and guitar tech," he added.
