Rick Springfield and Zoot is set to take over the land down under with their homecoming reunion tour sometime this year. However, recent news has revealed that might not happen anytime soon.

Rick Springfield Reunion Australian Tour With Zoot Canceled

In a Facebook post shared by DRW Entertainment, the producer of the two's concert in Australia, they confirmed that the upcoming tour is scrapped.

"It is with much sadness and disappointment that we must announce that the Zoot tour of Australia is cancelled," the statement reads.

With the shocking news already announced, the reason for the cancellation might bring clarity to fans who have been waiting since 2020.

According to the statement, the members of the band who were "excited about the potential offered by the tour," are now not in the position where they can proceed with the scheduled tour.

Instead of postponing the tour once again, the management has decided to cancel the tour altogether.

However, the tour was quite not far from over. Still, Springfield and Zoot are both open to having the highly-anticipated homecoming tour rescheduled at a future time and date.

Fans who have already bought tickets will be refunded in the coming days, as the management will be coordinating to carry out refund information.

The supposed tour was expected to kick off on Oct. 7, 2022, in Brisbane and will cap off on Oct. 15, 2022, in Melbourne.

But despite the canceled Australian tour, Rick Springfield will still be on tour this upcoming Summer.

Rick Springfield, Men At Work, John Waite' Incredible' Summer Tour

Per Ultimate Classic Rock, the three rock acts will be collaborating on a massive tour this Summer of 2022.

When asked what fans will be waiting for their upcoming tour, Men At Work Colin Hay says he looks forward to making "loud noise" again.

"You know, coming out on stage and seeing big crowds and seeing the other bands is always really good. I'm not thinking, "Oh, I've got to do the whole night myself." It's really good," he elaborated.

Meanwhile, Rick Springfield explained that while they would be sharing the stage with each other, it would seem like they were competing with each other.

Noting that while the other acts would be great on stage, it would also make them want to be greater or at least as good as the other performers.

"So it ups your game. Especially if it's guys you like, which we like each other so far. Once we get on the road, that may change completely. But so far, so good," the "Jessie's Girl" hitmaker added.
