Iggy Pop has been a staple in the rock industry since he started making music in the 1960s. It seems like he's not stopping anytime soon as the rock legend is bound to perform in several cities across Europe.

Considered the "Godfather of Punk," the singer was a vocalist and lyricist of "The Stooges," but he's more popular as a solo act.

The big question is: Where is he performing this year, and what is he up to today?

Iggy Pop Age, Birthday, Early Life

James Newell Osterberg Jr. was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on April 21, 1947. He's 75 years old today!

The singer spent his early years living in a trailer park in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Growing up, Iggy Pop was described by Ron Asheton as a "conventional teenager" as he spent most of his time with popular kids at school, but he never smoked cigarettes, didn't drink alcohol, and never took drugs.

His love for music began during fifth grade as he explored more about playing drums; he started with rubber pads glued to the plywood before his parents got him an actual drum set.

Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2007, he recalled his childhood, saying he went to school with a wealthy kid, but he had a "wealth that beat them all," which is the "tremendous investment" that his parents made in him.

"I got a lot of care. They helped me explore anything I was interested in. This culminated in their evacuation from the master bedroom in the trailer, because that was the only room big enough for my drum kit. They gave me their bedroom," he said.
