Despite One Direction disbanding seven years ago, it seems like the band still has a special place in Harry Styles' heart as he revealed his true feelings for his good pals in a recent interview.

Speaking to Zane Lowe for Apple Music ahead of the realease of his upcoming album "Harry's House," the British popstar said he has a lot of respect and love for his previous bandmates Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.

The "As It Was" hitmaker said he look at other people who went through the same thing as the band went through, but on their own. However, he couldn't imaging having done that.

"I feel really lucky that we always had each other to be this unit that felt like you could keep each other in check and you could just have someone else who gets it," he added.

Elsewhere in the interview, Styles described the experience of being in the boyband starting in 2010 when they initially competed individually on "X Factor" to its end in 2015 as "isolating."

He compared the feeling to being on the other side of the glass while his bandmates were on the other.

Whenever they do something together, Styles said there is a respect between all of them, and it's something they can't undo. He later described it as a "very deep love for each other."

While working with his good pals, the "Watermelon Sugar" singer said he didn't "really feel anything" despite going through highs because it would always feel "like a relief."

"Like, 'Oh, we didn't fail. That feels like a massive relief.' I never really felt like I celebrated anything," he explained.

In an previous interview with Better Homes & Garden, Styles got candid about his mental health, saying he started undergoing therapy sessions five years ago and began to feel the extreme feelings he'd been ignoring through "emotionally coasting."

He noted that a person is the most alive if they could accept that they're living, being happy, and hurting in the extremes.

In the same interview, Styles said he "felt free" after launching his solo career, but he still has a deep bond and love for his former One Direction bandmates.

Harry Styles' new album titled "Harry's House" will be released on May 20.
