After performing in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico a few days ago, many fans wonder if David Lee Roth is coming back to the music industry for good and coming out of his retirement. The singer was interviewed recently, and his answer might give supporters a hint.

According to Fox News, the 67-year-old musician was spotted leaving the Los Angeles International Airport. He came from a birthday party and played for someone who grew up listening to Van Halen.

The rock legend said he was "only in the middle" of his first retirement months after his Las Vegas residency was halted due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

When asked if he's coming out of retirement and performing on tour anytime soon, the singer said, "there's always a tomorrow for a singer, not so much for a trombone player these days."

He then compared his situation to Rocky, asking the interviewer how many times he retired.

The musician then explained Rocky attempted to retire seven times, and number three was his favorite.

Initially, Roth ended his decades-long career in 2021 to retire; it coincided with a line of scheduled shows in Las Vegas, Nevada, from the end of that year until early 2022.

He was also asked about a possible "Van Halen Tribute Band," which includes Pink and Joe Satriani; Roth said he wrote songs and he was the one who named the group.

Since he previously canceled his residency and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day performances, many people wonder if it's possible for him to still perform in Sin City.

To which the rocker answered, "It's not about me anymore. When the benefits for Kentucky, Colorado, and Farm Aid kick in; Call me."

Since he retired, the singer said he has been thinking about the recent passing of his "beloved classmate," an apparent reference to Eddie Van Halen's death.

"I am encouraged and compelled to really come to grips with how short time is, and my time is probably even shorter," Roth said.

David Lee Roth was one of the original members of Van Halen, along with the late Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, and Bassist Mark Stone.

The singer later separated ways with the band to focus on his solo career in 1985.
