Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd may act like they "Really Don't Care," but at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, the two pop megastars were all about the carefully planned performance and heartwarming speech. Lovato and Lloyd opened up the FOX ceremony with a high energy performance of the DEMI hit before taking home the surfboard for Choice Summer Song.

Lovato kicked off the program by walking through the audience (and missing the first line of the song in the process). Rocking an all-black outfit accessorized by several Moschino belts (and a dog collar), Lovato was all tough business while singing the sassy kiss-off single.

She was joined on stage by breakdancers of all shapes, sizes and colors, embracing the song's feel-good vibes and its inclusionary, pro-LGBT music video. All the while, she was pushing away male dancers and putting one finger in the air... (her thumb, of course!)

Eventually, Lloyd joined Lovato onstage, matching her with a black top but playing into her own fun personality with a pair of shiny gold pants, Lloyd jumped around the stage and danced the night away with Lovato.

A summer smash, indeed, and quite the smashing way to kick off the TCAs.

After the live performance, Lovato immediately took the stage again to accept the surfboard for Choice Summer Song, beating out the likes of Iggy Azalea, MAGIC!, Cavin Harris and fellow TCAs performer Jason Derulo.

In typical Demi Lovato style, she made the award more meaningful in her acceptance speech, empowering fans to follow their dreams.

"Thank you guys so much. This is amazing, and I dedicate this not only to my fans but also Cher Lloyd," she said. "Every single one of you deserves to live a happy incredible life."
