Rivers Cuomo is an American musician that possesses a net worth of $35 million. Cuomo is best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the alternative rock band Weezer. Patrick Wilson (drums, guitar, backing vocals), Brian Bell (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner are the current members of Weezer (bass, backing vocals, keyboards).
Cuomo has released nine studio albums, six EPs, and a DVD as a Weezer bandmate, despite the fact that the lineup has changed four times since the band's inception.
In the mid-2000s, the duo is claimed to have opened the way for the "emo" era, particularly due to River's composition and singing ability. Rivers is Tired of Spotify
As more musicians remove their music off Spotify in response to the Joe Rogan scandal, listeners are pondering switching to alternative streaming services. Apple Music and Tidal are two of the more obvious alternatives, but Rivers Cuom has introduced his own app, Weezify.
"Tired of Spotify," tweeted the lead singer of Weezer. "Please visit Weezify." The one drawback to Cuomo's endeavor is that, when he launched the app last year, he only included the over 3,200 demos he produced between 1975 and 2017 - nothing else.
Weezify's UI is comparable to that of Spotify in that users can follow selected playlists or create their own. The library of demos is divided into 12 era-specific collections. For example, "Weezma" has demos written between 2012 and 2014 with the California band Ozma, and "Patrick & Rivers" contains music created with Weezer drummer Patrick Wilson between 1991 and 2012.
Each Weezify bundle costs $9 to purchase and play, which is less than a monthly Spotify subscription. Weezify also looks to be an offshoot of another Internet venture Cuomo founded in 2020, a digital marketplace on which he sold bundles of previous demos.
Weezify is released as Weezer plan a new four-album seasonal cycle.
"Spring is kind of like happy chill. And then we move through to dance rock, like a Strokes-style album for the fall, and then sad acoustic, Elliott Smith-style for winter," " Cuomo told Good Morning America of the project, which aims to release a new album on the first day of each season.
