The 2022 BET Awards are days away from live national broadcast, and they have already announced the long list of performers for the highly-anticipated awards show.
Recently riddled with controversy because of the alleged Lil Nas X snub, the BET has stood its ground against the protest of the young rapper.
Doja Cat gets the chunk of the nominations, with Ari Lennox and Drake coming in second.
2022 BET Awards Performers
On the top of the list for the performers at the 2022 BET Awards are current Billboard Top 10 hitmakers - Lizzo, Jack Harlow, and Latto.
Chance the Rapper, Babyface, Ella Mai, Fireboy DML, and Giveon are among the first set of performers announced to take the stage at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Chlöe, Joey Bada$, Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, Muni Long, and Roddy Ricch will also grace the BET Awards.
Ricch, who has recently been embroiled in a controversy, has performed at the awards show for three consecutive years. Performing "The Box," "High Fashion," "Rockstar" in 2020, and "Late at Night" last year.
This is also Kirk Franklin's second time performing at the show - last year, he sang with DaBaby, while he is slated to share the stage with Maverick City Music.
Chlöe, who just teased her single a day ago, will also be performing. So far, she is the only 3-time nominee this year who was only confirmed to perform.
Newcomer and nominee Jack Harlow is also performing, despite his collaborator, Lil Nas X alleged snub on the show.

2022 BET Awards Lil Nas X Controversy
Days after the nominee list was announced, Lil Nas X took to Twitter to express his anger after not seeing his name on the bill.
Per the "Montero" hitmaker, his hits and album deserve at least a nomination on the bill - calling out the show for queer discrimination.
The BET has hit back on LNX's loud social media protest, standing their ground that an independent voting body just did not nominate him, clearing out allegations of discrimination.
2022 BET Awards Nominees
Despite the contested nominee list, some fans thought of the pack as justifiable.
Doja Cat took the chunk of nominations with six nods across pop and hip-hop genres. Ari Lennox and Drake took four nominations each.
Baby Keem, Silk Sonic, Chlöe, Future, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, Ye, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Baby, Mary J. Blige, and Tems all took three nominations.
The 2022 BET Awards will air live on BET on June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
