Drake recently released his new album "Honestly, Nevermind," and it's been getting mixed reviews from fans and critics. Hours before the rapper dropped his record, Joey Bada$$ revealed that he would delay his album, leading fans to speculate he did it because of the Canadian artist.

According to Club 93.7, Drake announced the surprise project yesterday on Instagram. A few hours later, Joey took to Twitter to reveal that he would be delaying his album.

"Man I got some terrible news, my album won't be coming out tonight due to sample clearance issues," he wrote.

He added that it's unclear how long he would have to put his album on hold, but he's hoping it's not more than two weeks.

The rapper clarified he wanted to have a new date, but it was out of his control.

Following this, many fans speculated that he's delaying his album because of Drake.

"Joey looking at this tweet knowing damn well he ain't dropping cause drake is dropping," one fan wrote.

Today, the musician set the record straight and reacted to the situation, saying the allegations are "comedy."

"Y'all thinking I pushed my album back because drake is comedy. Can't say I ain't happy tho hahaha," he wrote.

He also shared a follow-up tweet, "I fux with this new drake tho."

As of this writing, Joey Bada$$ has not revealed an official release date for his highly-anticipated album "2000."

Drake Receives Backlash Over New Album; Here's Why

Although many fans are happy that Drake released a new record, there are users online who are not pleased about the rapper's sudden genre switch as he ditched the traditional hip-hop in "Honestly, Nevermind."

According to XXL Magazine, the Canadian rapper's seventh studio album is an experiment with house music.

The record features 14 songs, with only one collaboration featuring 21 Savage.

The LP was produced mainly by DJ Black Coffee and Gordo aka Carnage.

Amid Drake's release, the topic "Forever 21" started trending on Twitter as many people compared the vibe of the rapper's new album with the fashion store.

The "Take Care" hitmaker later addressed the issue during a party that appeared to be celebrating his latest release.

"It's all good if you don't get it yet. It's all good. That's what we do. We wait for you to catch up. We're in here, though. We're caught up already. On to the next. My goodness."
