Bassist-vocalist Brad Parris is leaving his band, Nile, for good.

Nile's fans received the most heartbreaking news this month after the band confirmed the departure of its longtime bassist-vocalist. Parris has been working with them since 2015.

"It's time for us to share with our fans and the metal community that Brad Parris is leaving the Nile this year. This is something that we have known about and have been working together with Brad through the transition. Brad has been an exemplary band member of Nile since 2015, conducting himself at all times with professionalism and integrity," the announcement on its Facebook page confirmed.

The band, still, assured that the members' friendship and brotherhood would remain strong. Although it would face massive changes with Parris' departure, the band wished him the best after his exit.

The same post confirmed why he decided to cut his professional relationship with the band, saying Parris wanted to focus on his other projects. Unmentioned family concerns also contributed to his decision.

At the end of the post, Nile disclosed it would continue its touring and recording commitments. It also officially opened the audition to find someone to replace Parris.

Interested musicians can reportedly express their desire to become part of Nile by sending an email to nilebassistaudition@gmail.com.

Parris became part of Nile for nearly seven years, but he had his first and only album with them through the band's "Vile Nilotic Rites" in 2019.

Fans Send Good Luck Messages to Brad Parris

After Nile's announcement, fans - instead of showing their sadness - chose to support Parris in his desired path.

One commented, "You always managed to stay true to the 'Nile' sound, I have the fullest confidence it will remain brutal and lovely as always. Ever since the very first time I saw you guys (a Dynamo Open Air, way back) I was impressed, that never left me. Stay heavy!"

They also expressed how much they would miss him especially since Parris became the centerpiece of the band's performances.

Others also wished the band to have a smooth-sailing journey in searching for a new bassist.

Nile is scheduled to push through with its European tour, and the band will start in Poznan on November 2 and hold its last date in Hamburg on December 11. Among the cities it will visit include Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, Paris, Pamplona, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Wien, and Rotterdam.
