Throughout the music industry, many musicians had a successful career during their debut era or the time when they released their first album to the public. However, not all of them maintained their fame through the years, especially after releasing their second record.

More recently, hip-hop legend Missy Elliott took to her official Twitter account to give younger artists advice about releasing sophomore albums, saying it's stressful, but it's the best time to experiment.

The rapper then recalled the time when her song "Lose Control" was declined numerous times, including her label, but she "stood ten toes down" and released it, making it one of her successful songs to date.

To conclude her series of posts, Elliott said other people would usually charge to share their insights into the music industry, but she's letting her fans know that it's for free, and she couldn't wait to see the people who are "wise enough" to absorb the knowledge she shared.

Lastly, the rapper said all of the information she has today was learned "from the greats."

The hip-hop legend's career started in the industry as one of the members of the R&B group Sistas. She later joined Timbaland and became a part of the Swing Mob collective.
