Lewis Capaldi has not completed his second album because he is very, very lazy. He said so himself.

This summer has seen him headline a number of festivals like Latitude and Reading, but he's focused on songs from his 2019 debut album 'Divinely Uninspired To A Heavenly Extent' and acknowledged during his main act at Latitude on Friday that he doesn't have any new material to play. Unlike other artists, he did not bother giving false hopes.

It is also not for the lack of trying -- but his laziness won out.

He told the crowd: "I just want to say now, I have no new music to play you.

"I rescheduled a lot of shows last year because I was like, 'Guys, I need to finish my new album'. And I was supposed to do it, but I am horribly lazy."

Explaining his set would concentrate on the "old stuff", he said amidst the loud cheers and applause that he is happy the fans were still enjoying, because he got nothing new to offer.

As a result of the lengthy COVID-19 lockdowns, he urged concertgoers to make the most of their return to the outdoors and to other people.

Speaking on stage at the TRSMT Festival, he quipped: "It never occurred to me during lockdown to take my hand off my d*** and put it on my guitar.

"I'm glad we've all enjoyed a w*** every now and then."

Nonetheless, Lewis spoke more seriously about the night and how much it meant to him following his last arena tour, which had left him feeling low in confidence.

"I've been s******* myself about this for ages. We played some arena shows before everything kicked off and I found it very hard to perform them," he shared.

That phase was the worst of his, wherein he was having constant panic attacks on stage and stuff, he revealed.

Just this year, Capaldi has returned to the limelight by performing at festivals throughout the world.

The artist is slated to perform at Sziget Festival in Hungary and Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands in addition to headlining Latitude Festival in Suffolk tonight (July 22) at 9:40pm.

Although he is once again performing, he has not yet returned to social media.

Capaldi on Instagram, has been acclaimed as the "king of social media."

He has acquired 5.5 million Instagram followers, 1.3 million Twitter followers, and 3.2 million TikTok followers.

While other celebrities were uploading filtered photos of their glossy red carpet lives, Lewis was keeping it genuine with truly amusing content.

His social media pages contain posts that are relatable and hilariously hilarious.

From his response to rumors that he's worth $10 million to the iconic toilet plunger incident, Lewis has gained millions of admirers through not only his singing, but also his humorous social media presence.
