Beyonce is following Lizzo's move after facing backlash over putting an ableist slur on one of his "Rennaisance" tracks.

The "Renaissance" hitmaker is replacing the ableist lyric on one of her tracks, "Heated."

The decision to remove Beyonce's ableist lyric stemmed from the backlash she received after releasing the album last week.

Beyonce 'Rennaisance' Ableist Lyric To Be Replaced

On her track "Heated" from the recently-released "Rennaisance," Beyonce used what many mental health advocates pointed out to be a an ableist slur.

The specific lyric taht they were referring to is "Spazzin' on that ass, spazz on that ass," on her song "Heated."

For context, in the medical community "spazz" refers to a disability that makes it difficult for people to control their muscles, especially in their arms and legs.

Beyonce's team has confirmed to Variety that they would be removing the said offensive lyric.

"The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced," Beyonce's team announced.

In a The Guardian article published days after Bey released "Rennaisance," Hannah Diviney, who also took a jab on Lizzo's "spaz" lyric weeks ago, criticized Beyonce on the use of ableist slur.

Particularly noting that what the GRAMMY-winning singer "breathes" becomes a "cultural moment," she is often looked up at the industry to be the blueprint.

Diviney reveals that her heart sank knowing that Beyonce used the slur, saying that despite her superstar status, that "does not excuse her use of ableist language."

"I'm so tired. Disabled people deserve better. I don't want to have this conversation again," she ended the letter.

Lizzo Replaced 'Spaz' Lyric on 'Grrrls' After Huge Backlash

Similar to Beyonce's current issue, Lizzo has also faced a similar encounter when the "About Damn Time" hitmaker released "Grrrls" weeks ago.

"Grrrls," the second single she released on her much-awaited album, "Special," kept social media abuzz after disability advocates spotted the use of the derogatory slur "spazz" on the first few lines of her song.

After hearing about the immense flak online, Lizzo humbly addressed the problem and promised to change the ableist lyric shortly.

"As a fat black woman in America, I've had many hurtful words used against me so I overstand the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case, unintentionally). This is the result of me listening and taking action. As an influential artist I'm dedicated to being part of the change I've been waiting to see in the world," Lizzo wrote in a statement.

Beyonce's "Rennaisance" was released last weekend on all streaming services. While Lizzo's "Special" came earlier this July 2022.
