Mystikal, a three-time Grammy nominee, was arrested on a total of six charges, including first-degree rape.

He was placed in the the Ascension Parish Jail on Sunday morning in his native Louisiana. 

This is the 51-year-old Grammy nominee's third time being arrested for rape

Mystikal (born Michael Tyler) has not yet been brought before a judge, and no bond has been set. 

The problematic hip-hop artist is scheduled to play in Ohio on September 3. 

Sheriff Bobby Webre said on Facebook that a 51-year-old registered sexual offender was arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a local hospital, where the victim also suffered some injuries, albeit minor. 

The troubled hip-hop star was additionally charged with simple robbery, domestic violence battery, strangulation, false imprisonment, and simple criminal property damage.

On August 1, TMZ reported that the rapper, who has a 23-year-old daughter and a 22-year-old son, "has yet to see a judge and no bond has been set." 

Mystikal served 18 months at the Caddo Correctional Center from 2017 and 2019 on charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping, which were ultimately dismissed in 2020 due to lack of evidence. 

Prior to that, in 2012, the former US Army combat engineer served 81 days in East Baton Rouge Parish Jail for domestic violence battery. 

In addition, Mystikal served six years at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center for sexual violence and extortion against his hairstylist, in addition to two misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns for 1998-1999. 

The canceled rapper is next slated to play on September 3 alongside Too $hort and Juvenile at Ohio's Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Cleveland. 

Mystikal appears in BET's No Limit Chronicles, a five-part documentary series about Master P and his company, in 2020. 

During the early 2000s, Mystikal rose to prominence with a number of hit songs. Mystikal collaborated with a variety of musicians, including Ludacris, Master P, Trevor Jackson, Snoop Dog, and Mark Ronson. Mystikal received two Grammy nominations in 2003. However, the scandals eclipsed his musical career. 

Since his fifth studio album Tarantula in 2001, the "Shake Ya A**" hitmaker has not released a full-length album. His most recent appearance was on Blush's 2017 song Cinderella.
